Lifetime free flights for baby born on plane

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – A baby boy who made a surprise arrival on board an AirAsia flight this week will be given free flights for life with the budget carrier, as will his mother, the airline said Friday.
AirAsia said 31-year-old passenger Liew Siaw Hsia went into labour on Wednesday's flight from the northern island of Penang to Kuching on Borneo island.
The aircraft made an emergency diversion to the Malaysian capital but the baby arrived just before landing, delivered by a doctor who was on board and who was assisted by the airline's flight attendants.
"The baby was safely delivered when flight AK 6506 was approaching Kuala Lumpur for landing at 2,000 feet," the airline said in a statement, adding that mother and baby were taken to a nearby hospital following touchdown.
"To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to present both mother and child with free flights for life," said AirAsia's director of operations Moses Devanayagam after visiting them in hospital.

তা এসব ওয়েবক্যাম খুঁজে পাবেন কীভাবে? অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই ট্রাফিক ক্যামেরা, বা বিভিন্ন সার্ভিলেন্স ক্যামেরাগুলো সরাসরি কোনো সাইটে লিংক দেয়া থাকে না। কিন্তু গুগল ব্যবহার করে এই ওয়েবক্যামগুলোকে খুঁজে পেতে পারেন খুব সহজেই। ক্যামেরার মালিকরা সরাসরি লিংক না দিলেও ক্যামেরার কিছু বিশেষ কী-ওয়ার্ড ব্যবহার করে গুগল সার্চ করলেই ক্যামেরাগুলোর পাতায় যাওয়া যায়।

যেমন, আক্সিস ব্র্যান্ডের ক্যামেরা পেতে হলে সার্চ করুন

রেজাল্ট পাতায় অনেক লিংক পাবেন, সেগুলোতে ক্লিক করলে এই রকমের পাবলিক ওয়েবক্যামগুলো দেখতে পাবেন।

এটা ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ ওমাহা'র একটি ট্রাফিক ক্যামেরার ছবি। রাস্তা দিয়ে যা গাড়ি আসা যাওয়া করছে, লাইভ দেখতে পাবেন।


অবশ্য সার্চ টার্চ করতে না চাইলে এক জায়গাতেই সবগুলো ক্যামেরা পাবেন, ওপেনটোপিয়া নামের সাইটে গেলে এরকম অনেক ক্যামেরার লিংক দেয়া আছে।

এই ২টি বাক্য স্মরণ করিয়ে দিয়ে শুভেচ্ছা জনতার বিজয়কে।
যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিপক্ষে আমাদের সংগ্রামের প্রথম ধাপ অতিক্রম করেছি মাত্র।মুজাহিদ মাত্র ১ হাজার ভোটের জন্য জামানত বাজেয়াপ্ত হওয়ার হাত থেকে রেহাই পেয়েছেন।পরাজিত হয়েছে অন্য সকল জামাত পন্থি যুদ্ধাপরাধি।হয়ত আমাদের ব্যার্থতার জন্যই সাকা চৌ এর মত যুদ্ধাপরাধী জয়ি হয়ে গেছে ১ আসনে।

কথা গুলি হয়ত অগোছালো মনে হচ্ছে।
এখন ধাপে ধাপে আসছি।
যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারঃ
যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিপক্ষে আমাদের সংগ্রাম কে আওয়ামীলীগের প্রাচারনা বলে অনেকেই চালাতে চেয়েছেন।এটা মানি এই প্রচারণার ফসল আওয়ামীলীগের ঘরেই গেছে।আওয়ামীলীগের একটা কথা মনে রাখতে হবে,তরুন প্রজন্ম যারা এই যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার প্রত্যাশা করে নৌকাতে হাওয়া দিয়েছে তাদের সেই প্রত্যাশা পুর্ণ না করলে সামনের নির্বাচনে হাসিনাকেই কাঠ গড়াতে দাড়াতে হবে।
এটা যদি হাসিনা মনে করে এই ইস্যু বাঁচিইয়ে রাখলে প্রতিবার সুফল ভালো হবে তবে সেটা হবে ভবিষ্যতের ইতিহাসের সব চেয়ে বড় ভুল।
আমার প্রত্যাশা থাকবে এই ব্যাপারে তাড়াহুড়া করা ঠিক হবে না,বরং যে সকল দেশে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার হয়েছে সে সকল দেশের সাথে যোগাযোগ করে পদ্ধতি ঠিক করে তার পর সামনে আগানো উচিত।আইনের সকল ফাঁক বন্ধ করেই সামনে আগাতে হবে।তবে এই কাজ এখনি শুরু করে যেন আগামী ৫ বছরের মাঝে শেষ করা যায় সেই কর্ম পন্থা ঠিক করতে হবে।


মন্ত্রীপরিষদঃ জানি এখনো আমরা সেই পর্যায়ে পৌছায় নাই যে সোনিয়া গান্ধির মত প্রধাণ মন্ত্রীত্ব ছেড়ে কেবল দলীয় প্রধানের ভুমিকা পালন করার মত নজির এদেশে আমরা দেখতে পাব।তার পরেও প্রত্যাশা থাকবে শেখ পরিবারের কাওকে যেন মন্ত্রীত্ব প্রদান না করেন হাসিনা।কারন ইতিহাস থেকে শিক্ষা নিতে না পারলে পরিণতি কি হবে তা ইতিহাস থেকেই জানা যায়।
আর এবার কয়েক ডজনের বেশি যোগ্য সাংসদ নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন যারা মন্ত্রী পরিষদ গঠনের জন্য যথেষ্ট।এই মন্ত্রী পরিষদ কতটা দক্ষতার সাথে গঠন করতে পারল সেটাই প্রথম চেল্যাঞ্জ।

এই পর্যন্ত যেখানেই এমন এক পেশে বিজয় হয়েছে তার ফলাফল কিন্তু করুন হয়েছে,এর একটাই কারন।ক্ষমতার ব্যাল্যান্স হারায়ি ফেলা।তাই এই বিজয় কে প্রকৃত জনতার বিজয় করার জন্য আওয়ামীলীগ কে প্রথম থেকেই সাবধান থাকতে হবে।হাসিনাকে মনে রাখতে হবে বঙ্গবন্ধু যা সমাপ্ত করে যেতে পারেনি তা সম্পুর্ণ করার শেষ সুযোগ উনার হাতে।

২০০৮ সালের শেষ দিনে সমগ্র জাতির মত একই প্রত্যাশা,২০০৯ সালে একটি সুন্দর বাংলাদেশ দেখতেচাই,যেখানে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের বিষয়টি সমাধানের কাজ শুরু হয়ে যাবে।গরিব মানুষ গুলি সত্যিকার অর্থেই স্বাধীনতার অর্থ খুঁজে পাবে।

ধরুন আপনাকে কেও EMAIL করল,তো সব ইমেইলে হেডার নামে একটা অংশ,তা copy করে trace email লিংক ব্যবহার করে খুজে পেতে পারেন ইমেইল কারীকে!!

1. Double-Click on 'install.sh' file.

2. A pop-up message will prompt.

3. Click on "Run in Terminal" button.

4. Give your root password when it asks for.

5. Installation will be completed and terminal will be closed automatically.

6. Now Open your TERMINAL [ Application> Accessories> Terminal ]


write the command in terminal then press ENTER


sudo gedit /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90im-switch



7. A writing panel (Text Editor) will appear.

8. Now Copy these text


export XMODIFIERS="@im=SCIM"
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim"
export XIM_PROGRAM="scim -d"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim"


9. Paste these text into the text editor (Point 7)

10. save & exit



Then Log Off And Log On....


Now you are able to compose in bangla with UNIJOY keyboard.

CTRL + SPACE to change keyboard between BANGLA and ENGLISH


[ When you press CTRL + SPACE BAR, you will notice a POP UP Language Bar in RIGHT SIDE DOWN in your screen.

If you can't write BANGLA after pressing CTRL + SPACE, check that language bar, is it showing the language name BN-UNIJOY. If not click on that language name in the bar. You will see a list of languages. Select BANGLA > BN-UNIJOY.

Now your scim is now ready to let you write in bangla....

0. ডাউনলোডকৃত ফাইল টাকে Unzip করুন।


1. 'install.sh' নামের ফাইলটিতে ডাবল ক্লিক করুন।



2. একটা বক্স আসবে।



3. সেটা থেকে "Run in Terminal" বাটনে ক্লিক করুন।



4. আপনার টার্মিনাল ওপেন হবে, পাসওয়ার্ড চাইলে আপনার পাসওয়ার্ড দিন।



5. Scim Language Package ইনস্টল শুরু হবে এবং ইনস্টল শেষে স্বয়ংক্রিয় ভাবে টার্মিনাল বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে।

6. এখন টার্মিনাল ওপেন করুন। [ Application> Accessories> Terminal ]

নিচের কমান্ড গুলো terminal এ টাইপ করুন, অথবা কপি করে টার্মিনালে পেস্ট করুন (টার্মিনালে কোন টেক্সট পেস্ট করার জন্য CTRL + SHIFT+ V চাপতে হয়)। তারপর ENTER চাপুন।


sudo gedit /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90im-switch



7. একটি প্যানেল (Text Editor) ওপেন হবে।

8. ওই প্যানেলে নিম্নোক্ত টেক্সট গুলি কপি করে নিয়ে সেখানে পেস্ট করুন। (CTRL + V )


export XMODIFIERS="@im=SCIM"
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim"
export XIM_PROGRAM="scim -d"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim"



9. text editor টিতে উপরোক্ত টেক্সট গুলি পেস্ট করুন।


10. সেভ করে বের হয়ে (close) আসুন।




লগ অফ (log off) করে আবার লগ অন (log on) করুন...


এখন আপনি যেকোন জায়গায় ইউনিজয় পদ্ধতিতে বাংলা লিখতে পারবেন।

CTRL + SPACE চেপে আপনি বাংলা এবং English এর মাঝে কী-বোর্ড পরিবর্তন করতে পারবেন।


[ CTRL + SPACE চাপলে আপনার স্ক্রিনের নিচের দিকে বাম কোণে একটা পপ-আপ ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ বার দেখতে পাবেন।

যদি তাতেও বাংলা লেখা না যায় তবে দেখুন ল্যঙ্গুয়েজ বারটিতে ভাষার জায়গায় bn-unijoy লেখা দেখা যায় কিনা। যদি না থাকে তবে সেই বারটি তে ক্লিক করুন। একটা ভাষার তালিকা দেখা যাবে। সেখান থেকে BANGLA > BN-UNIJOY নির্বাচন করুন।

ব্যস আপনার স্কিম ইউনিজয় পদ্ধতিতে বাংলা লেখার জন্য প্রস্তুত....

President Zillur Rahman directed the members of the President Guard Regiment (PGR) to keep continue their duties with utmost sincerity and skills showing firm loyalty to the leadership. He said this while addressing the Darbar of the PGR in Dhaka yesterday to mark its 34 founding anniversary.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the military forces concerned to perform their duties with skill, discipline and loyalty in ensuring security of the statesmen and hoped they would go ahead keeping complete confidence in their leadership. Addressing a function marking the 34th founding anniversary of the President Guard Regiment (PGR) in Dhaka yesterday, she said, the construction of the 500-bed hospital with the Armed Forces Medical College will be completed soon, adding, the government is also considering expansion of the soldiers’ housing facilities inside the cantonment. Referring to providing collateral free loan from the Trust Bank in maintenance of residences of the soldiers, the Prime Minister said, the government has a plan to increase the loan facilities to this end. She said that her government has already directed the authorities concerned to bring equality in rationing system of the three services along with increasing their daily allowances.

Prime Minister said that if necessary, private airliners would be commissioned to carry Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims from the upcoming season. She said this when a delegation of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh called on her in Dhaka yesterday. The government also has a plan to set-up permanent hajj-mission offices in Makkah and Madina for ensuring proper hajj management, she added.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith told the House that the government has taken up a plan to print currency notes of Tk 5 to Tk 1000 with the picture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that will be implemented from the year 2010 in phases. The tax on SIM card would not be reduced in the near future, he added. He told that Tk 108.39 crore were deposited to the national exchequer against whitening ‘undisclosed’ money to the tune of Tk 787.68 crore during the last fiscal 2008-09. Besides, Bangladesh has applied for the membership of Egmont Group, a coordinating company of over 100 financial intelligence units across the world, in an effort to bring back siphoned off money, he added.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Razi Uddin Ahmed Razu told the House that the government earned revenue of Tk 3,122 crore from private mobile phone companies from July 2008 to January 2009. He said, the state-run Teletalk will soon add new features in its network for providing better services, and the activities are in progress to expand its network at upazila level.

The authorities decided to keep three galleries of the National Museum closed to refurnish those with the right and authentic history of the War of Liberation. The decision was taken at a review meeting at the National Museum with Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.

The Parliament yesterday unanimously passed two bills, including the Fertilizer (Management) (Amendment) Bill 2009 and the National Agriculture Award Fund (Amendment) Bill 2009. Besides, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Information Ministry placed its report on The Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Protection Bill for Bangladesh Television-2009 and the Committee on the Establishment Ministry placed its report on the Public Servants (Marriage with Foreign Nationals) (Amendment) Bill, 2009 in the House yesterday. The Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2009 was also placed in Parliament seeking to change the name of the Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge Authority to Bangladesh Bridge Authority.

State Minister for Housing and Public Works Advocate Abdul Mannan told the House on behalf of State Minister for Power that the government is committed to resolve the power crisis within the shortest possible time through procuring power from all sources at home and abroad, adding, it has also taken steps for formulating a national coal policy and extract coal from northern coalmines without creating environmental hazards.

Commerce Minister Lt Col (Retd) Faruq Khan said, the government has deployed intelligence agencies to trace the people behind the recent violence in the apparel sector and stern action would be taken against the perpetrators of the incidents.

Food Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak said, the government has set a target of procuring 28 lakh tons of food-grains in the current fiscal year. Addressing a press briefing yesterday, he said, at least 23 lakh tons of food-grains will be distributed under various social safety net programmes.

The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase at its meeting yesterday with Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in the chair, approved proposals for import of 1,20,000 tons of petroleum oil and 5,75,000 tons of urea fertilizer.

Addressing a workshop in Dhaka yesterday, Education Minister Nurul Islam Naheed said, the government has decided to provide books free of cost to all students along with the primary level from the next year to encourage students of poor families to continue their studies.

Speaking at a views-exchange meeting in Savar yesterday, State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Quamrul Islam said, no terrorist would be spared and they, irrespective of political affiliations, would be sternly dealt with.

Bangladesh Postal Department has taken steps to introduce mobile money order service in the country’s post offices for reaching money to the clients within an hour, Director General of Postal Department told newsmen yesterday.

The government launched online tax return system in a bid to make the tax payment easier and free from hassles. Large Taxpayers’ Unit of the NBR opened the system for the Bangladesh Insurance Association.

Remittance recorded a 22.32 percent growth during last fiscal year compared to FY2007-08 despite the ongoing global recession. Remittance figures stood at $10 billion in fiscal 2008-09, taking the foreign currency reserve to $7.42 billion yesterday.

Addressing the inaugural session of a training course yesterday, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman cautioned the commercial banks against any bid to manipulate the country’s capital market through unfair means, and suggested close monitoring of the country’s share market to protect investors’ interest.

Dhaka Stock Exchange’s general index lost 103.66 points, or 3.38 percent, to close at 2,966.05, while its blue chips index, DSE20, shed 79.16 points, or 3.15 percent to finish at 2,430.47.

Change the Time: Reminder to Bangladesh

Bangladesh government has decided to implement Daylight Saving for the first time. Today at 2300 hours local time (+6 GMT) the time must be set to 2400 hours. That means today at 11 pm it will be 12 am in Bangladesh. Even though this kind of initiative is 100 years old and about 70 countries are familiar with this, we are just stepping into it for the first time. So at first it might seem a little bit confusing and hard to adjust. But we have to obey this decision and I'm sure we'll be used to this in no time.

So don’t forget to set the time correctly in your phones and computers also.

We will be 7 hours ahead o GMT now, right?

Timezone Settings Change for BD and Server Time Modification

We can expect timezone data update from Red Hat and Ubuntu. Found bugs
reported on this issue but not sure the fixes will come within 16th Jun
2009.



Lets see what happens.
